AB-540 Presentation by PODER

Presenter: Laura Melgarejo

WHEN: Thursday, March 18th

TIME: 2:00 to 3:00 pm

WHERE: Cesar Chavez, Terrace Level Room 160

The workshop will present students with the fundamentals of AB-540. What is AB-540 is a California law that allows undocumented students who meet certain requirement to pay in-state tuition at all public colleges and universities in California. The workshop will cover the requirements, how to apply as an AB-540 student and if needed referrals for free legal consultations for an immigration attorney. Participants in the workshop will be able to learn from other immigrant students who are in the path of achieving their dreams regardless of their immigration status. The “Beyond Borders” DVD highlights the struggles and obstacles that immigrant youth have to face day to day in order to achieve their career goals.

‘ CSA Spring Fling’

CSA knows how rough this part of the year can be. You can see the end of the year coming like a white light shining brightly in the future, but there’s still so much to do…papers, midterms, case notes, etc! We all need a little boost of encouragement, a pat on the back, a little somthin’ somthin’ to keep us moving every once in a while. We counselors like to call it “self care.” That’s why CSA is hosting the ”Spring Fling,” in honor of the spring break milestone and all the hard work we’ve put in thus far.
